I reinstalled it, leaving ‘/’ after teTeX out
./configure –prefix=/home/username/local/teTeX/
and it worked/ ‘which latex’ doesn’t return null anymore.

Hi,
I’m trying to enable math in mediawiki on Hostmonster. I followed all the steps, but my website still can not render math. the command which latex returns null. Are there more to be done?

If you have ssh access, then you can ssh to hostmonster server (whose address you can see on left of your hostmonster control panel)using putty or any ssh client. Then you can issue above commands there.

I’m with Hostmonster, have SSH access and use FTP.

You will have better luck without the trailing /
after teTeX:

./configure –prefix=/home/username/local/teTeX/ \
